An industrious fan of Overwatch 2 makes a stunning replica of Sombra’s gun in real life. The world of Overwatch is full of unique characters, each of which comes with an equally notable weapon. While Sombra’s machine pistol is not as big as Reinhardt’s Hammer or Doomfist’s Gauntlet in Overwatch 2, it has a distinct design that makes it look like nothing else in the game.

While not part of the original lineup of characters for Overwatch 1, Sombra was one of the first DLC heroes to be added to the series. While her kit has evolved over the years, she has continued to have a knack for disrupting enemy teams using her hack abilities, including her devastating EMP. Recently, one gamer made a prop based on the hero that looked pulled straight from Overwatch 2.

In a collection of images, the user gave fans a look at the machine pistol prop, which had been partly painted blue and purple. Impressively, the creation included many of the details seen in its in-game counterpart, such as the lengthy magazine. One highlight was the weathered look of Sombra’s gun, making it feel like it had been used in past battles. Click here to see the rest of the images.

In the comment section, Foam_skinsuit provided several details on making the amazing prop. According to the Reddit user, the material used to print the gun was Polylactic Acid (PLA), and there were around 50 parts they had to print. In addition, they revealed the gun lights up when the trigger is pulled, and the magazine can be removed. When everything was all said and done, the entire process of creating the weapon, including sanding, painting, and finishing, took roughly a week. Beyond discussing the creation of Sombra’s gun, the Reddit user said they were planning on making Brigitte’s Flail and Shield next.

Unsurprisingly, this impressive replica of Sombra’s gun piqued the curiosity of numerous Overwatch 2 gamers on Reddit. Since being shared online, the post has gained over 4.2K upvotes, with many fans commenting on the design. Besides complimenting the creator, a number of users offered suggestions for future 3D-printing projects. Some ideas included Junkrat’s Frag Launcher and Reinhardt’s Helmet.

It will be interesting to see what kinds of creations gamers like Foam_skinsuit 3D-print in the months ahead. With 36 characters in Overwatch 2 and more to be added in future seasons, there is seemingly no limit to the items fans could replicate in the real world.
